BEING NOSTRADAMUS

I recently had the great honor of meeting with the great Mr.C’mon man. He gave me his expert opinion (uncalled for as you should have guessed by now) on everything under the sun and beyond. He felt that I have been too serious and my writing reflects melancholy. I tried in vain for a little while explaining my sanity to him but he went off on rigmarole as to why he is the next Nostradamus which I found rather amusing.

So I decided to share that interesting bit of comedy (or tragedy) with all of you! Enjoy!! A year ago, his prediction went to deaf ear, but today he has mastered the art of grabbing attention!

  4. So true.. Life has become so much advanced that nowadays friends have remained only in virtual world.. I don't even remember when I had last met my friends in real :)

Your cartoon is so apt for the situation. Definitely FB has become world to us and that's why nobody bothers even if the real world is gonna end in 2013.:) Good 1 Raj:)

    1. Ramya.. first of all.. thank you so much for the mind blowing comment. I must say.. it is certainly more interesting and better than the original post. :)

Yup.. I accept. I am not going to argue. I will listen to you and C'mon men and women. :) Arguing is not going to help as I am outnumbered and will get kicked otherwise as you have teamed up with him. :P

Social studies.. hmm.. sounds like a subject I seem to heard about. But don't know where. :D But Mr.C'mon man sure would have done a PHD in that. ;)

  7. Right, we can choose to witness either tragedy or comedy in it. Seems you are reduced to our virtual existence, no wonder many can't live without it. What a tragedy!

And the FB user in me would ask, Is it true? The share tanked within a week of its IPO. Mark booked huge profits, so will the company will exist like its predecessor Orkut?

    Quite an entertaining post!

    1. Thank you very much Saru. :) It is indeed a tragedy that we now 100% virtual. Guess God would be considering installing FB in heaven and hell so that we have continuity in the other world. :)

hmm.. yeah. I too agree with your thought. FB could go down Orkut's path. Time will tell.

    1. he he.. yeah.. I guess many people today are susceptible to fainting if they hear that FB would cease to exist. I guess their souls will not rest in peace unless God makes FB arrangements in the other world. ;)

  16. Ah! The C'mon Man is back again. :) Yes, we are so emotionally involved in our virtual world that we almost cannot live without it. In today's time, keeping in touch means a like and a comment here and there. Its not about meeting in person or calling each other anymore. That is a real tragedy.

Anyways about Facebook shutting down by 2020, I doubt it. It would still exist but may not be an addiction as it is now to many of us. Yahoo! was the "Big" thing in 2000 but we know what Yahoo has become now, it still makes profits but its not the same anymore. I guess Facebook will suffer similar fate as Yahoo by 2020. :)

    1. Ha ha.. thank you so much Akshay for that lovely comment. Very true. We cannot live FB these days. Sure it has made staying in touch easier but the touch is somehow lost. :) And it is a tragedy indeed as you have said.

yeah.. I dunno either. FB may live longer or may be forever who knows. Or may be it will fade away. Anyways as you have said, it will cease to be a phenomenon sometime soon. But we may get addicted to another necessary evil. ;)

  23. The deaf year to the world coming to end and all the fuss about the FB going bankrupt is apt for todays virtual meeting, conferences as well as get-togethers .FB can only come to an end when people start doing more things virtually other than just typing ;)

  25. Lolz:):D ..anything can happen anytime! whatever happened to Orkut?
    Brilliant work Raj:)

  26. Nice one, Raj. Orkut is a classic example of how dinosaurs went extinct. Facebook has momentum in terms of userbase that will be difficult to disturb, but it is really difficult to predict what the next big direction in social media will be. I loved the irony in your cartoon.

    ReplyDelete
  27. People are so fond of FB that it would really be a tragedy for them but as your cartoons picture it it might be a no reason to worry as they would be no more to weigh the tragedy ;)

    Nice post!

  28. ROFL..I know many who are really going to react in the same way hearing the FB tragedy..excellent one!!
